I had started out at a young age doing extra art assignments even in elementary school. With teachers knowing that I had this talent, they had asked if I would design the cover of our annual, in which I did. All through high school I continued to do many exhibits and personal displays of portraits and various works. After high school I enlisted in the Marine Corps, but continued to draw and sketch whenever possible, mostly doing a lot of portraits of buddies.
When my enlistment was over, I moved to the Bay area (San Francisco) and decided to go to college, majoring in art, using my G.I. bill. Shortly after this I met a girl and had gotten married. Now with a family to support I was offered a position as manager of a retail store and pursued that career for quite some time, but continued to paint portraits, landscapes, and seascapes. I have been a member of the San Gabriel Fine Arts Association and the San Diego Portrait Society, having
won several awards with both.
